Biography

Jimena Tormo -- Director, Screenwriter and Video Editor

Jimena was born in Venezuela in 1991. In 2014, she graduated from the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB) in Caracas and obtained her BA degree in Mass Media and Communications specializing in Audiovisual Arts. Jimena's experience includes working as Art Director and Producer of two short films, Screenwriter and Producer of a feature film pre-production. Jimena has also worked as an Intern Designer and Community Manager for a small advertising agency and as Copy Producer Junior at Sony Pictures Entertainment Latin America. Additionally, she has participated as freelancer in many video and advertising projects.

Her professional experience along with her involvement as member of AGO Teatro Theatre Company and The Medatia Foundation, an organization that works with children of slum areas using theatre as an educational tool, helped her develop the skills and work method that facilitated the creation of La Vampira del Raval experience.

On July 1st 2016, Jimena graduated from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and obtained her MA Degree in Creative Documentary Filmmaking.

Laura Neira Molina -- Producer and Art Director

Laura was born in Medellín, Colombia, where pictures, art, literature and creativity surrounded her. She loves to use communication as a way to create bonds between people and cultures.

After five years studying Mass Media and Communication she graduated at the Bolivarian Pontifical University. Laura is passionate about the audiovisual environment and the need to undertake new paths of expression. She has experience in the development of communication strategies, marketing, social media and producing audiovisual projects, such as short films and television shows. Laura has also worked as freelancer for many production companies, as assistant director, screenwriter and event organizer.

On July 1st 2016, Laura graduated from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and obtained her MA Degree in Creative Documentary Filmmaking.

Bruno Crocianelli Salas -- Screenwriter and Art Director

He graduated from the National University of La Plata, Argentina and obtained his BA Degree in Journalism. Bruno has worked for different media as a writer and also has experience in corporate communications and in developing of public politics.

Bruno organized a series on classical music for the public radio station of the Austral Foundation in Argentina and he produced and wrote the scripts for the documentary series Sur del Sur, Stories of Tierra del Fuego. One of the chapters of this series, entitled “El Abastecimiento”, was selected to compete at the Political Cinema Awards in 2014.

On July 1st 2016, Bruno graduated from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and obtained his MA Degree in Creative Documentary Filmmaking.

Carolina Mella Happe -- Cinematographer, Video Editor and Screenwriter

Carolina was born in Ecuador where she fell in love with stories that surrounded her and looked for a way to become a good storyteller. She started to contemplate the ocean and desired to cross it one day.

From that moment she developed a passion for travelling and knowing new places. Carolina has lived in different cities of America and Europe. She grew up in Manta and graduated from the Catholic University of Quito and obtained her BA Degree in Journalism.

She has experience as producer, researcher, reporter and camerawoman and has also worked under extreme circumstances in the Antarctic, the favelas of Río de Janeiro and different Venezuelan cities.

On July 1st 2016, Carolina graduated from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and obtained her MA Degree in Creative Documentary Filmmaking.

Claudia Huertas -- Producer and Photographer

Claudia graduated with a Degree in Advertising from the Jorge Tadeo University in Bogotá, Colombia. Her passion for photography started when she attended a photojournalism course at the Woodrow Wilson High School in Texas.

Motivated by her background in art and design, she studied photography in Barcelona, Spain, where she now lives and graduated from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and obtained a Degree in Photojournalism. Claudia also has taken different courses related to photographic lighting, advertising photography, architectural photography, fashion photography and digital retouching.

On July 1st 2016, Claudia graduated from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and obtained her MA Degree in Creative Documentary Filmmaking.

Marina Amores -- Sound Designer and Producer

Marina graduated from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and obtained a BA Degree in Audio-visual Communication. She was born in Palma de Mallorca and now lives in Barcelona.

Marina works as a journalist at Eurogamer and as a documentary filmmaker. She is passionate about the audio-visual world, but her real passion is videogames, which is why she works as a Community Manager and Journalist in different companies within this industry.

She has produced three documentary films about videogames and a film about street boxing. The latter won the Best Director Award at the 2014 edition of the Sitges Film Festival.

On July 1st 2016, Marina graduated from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and obtained her MA Degree in Creative Documentary Filmmaking.
